Kishoreganj lightning strike kills mother and daughter

A mother and her daughter were killed in a lightning strike in Tarail Upazila of Kishoreganj. The incident took place on Tuesday (April 19) morning at Belka village in Jawar union of the Upazila. 

The deceased were identified as Asma Begum, 55, wife of Mujibur Rahman; and Yasmin, 28, wife of Nurul Amin of the same village. 

Tarail police inspector (investigation) Md Mizanur Rahman confirmed the information. 

He said that rain and thundershowers started suddenly during Sehri. When the mother and daughter went out to cover the paddy in the field next to the house, they died on the spot in lightning strikes. On information, police visited the spot in the morning.
