Markets will be opened considering the situation: Home Minister

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said the market would be opened considering the overall situation. "So far the situation is favorable, if this is the case then we will open the market," he said.

The Home Minister made the remarks in response to a question from reporters on Wednesday (April 20).

"I told the traders to wait till noon today to see the situation and then open the shop," he said. Asked whether the situation is now favorable for opening the market, the minister said, "So far it is favorable, if it is like this, we will open the market."

Meanwhile, Harun Ur Rashid, assistant commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Traffic) New Market area, said the situation in the area is calm today. No disputing party was seen on the road today and traffic on the Nilkhet-Newmarket road is still normal.
