'No PEC exam from next year'

State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Mohammad Zakir Hossain has said that the examination of the Class V Completion (PEC) and Madrasa Education Completion (Ibtedayi) will not be taken from next year.

He made the remarks at a press conference at the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education on Thursday (April 21).

State Minister Mohammad Zakir Hossain said all kinds of tests would be lifted to implement the new curriculum. They will be picked up in the next class through continuous assessment.

The state minister for primary and mass education also said that it would be announced later whether the final examination would be held this year or not.

Secretary of the Ministry Mohammad Aminul Islam Khan, Director General of the Department of Primary Education Alamgir Mohammad Mansurul Alam and other officials were present at the press conference.
