A probable
low pressure in the South Andaman Sea is expected on Friday, leading to the
strongest cyclone of the year “Cyclone Asani”.
This
information has been obtained from the sources of the Bangladesh Meteorological
Department (BMD). According to the country’s Met Office, “India’s West Bengal,
Odisha and Bangladesh” may be affected.
It is
known that the probable low pressure in the South Andaman Sea is facing West
Bengal, Odisha and Bangladesh. However, its direction is showing one direction
at a time. As a result, it is difficult to say which way it will go. However,
according to initial estimates, it will eventually come to West Bengal, Odisha
and Bangladesh.
If the
system further intensifies into a storm by May 10, it will be named “Cyclone
Asani”, a name given by Sri Lanka. The word Asani means - “simple”. But this
Asani means lightning.
Meanwhile,
Cyclone Asani is expected to move to the western part of Bangladesh and also to
the eastern part. It could hit the coast in the next 10 to 12 days, said Met
Office.
Meanwhile,
there is a possibility of heavy rain in the southern part of the country in the
next 24 hours. Rain is likely in Barishal, Khulna, Chattogram, Sylhet and many
parts of the Dhaka division. On the other hand, it will rain in some places in
Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions in the north.
