Cyclone Asani has changed its course. The cyclone is not
moving towards the coast of Orissa or West Bengal in India but the thunderstorm
is slowly moving towards the southern Andhra Pradesh coast of the country. A
red alert has already been issued there.
The information was given by the Indian media NDTV in a
report on Wednesday (May 11).
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the
cyclone Asani is changing its course and moving towards the Kakinda coast. However,
it has been warned that it will change course again and hit the Visakhapatnam
coast of Andhra Pradesh. News from NDTV, APB Live.
Earlier, meteorologists predicted that cyclone Asani would
move towards the Bay of Bengal. Currently, the cyclone is located very close to
the north-west of Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, the local authorities have issued
warning number 10 for fear of hitting the Kakinda coast.
Besides, red alerts have been issued in several areas
including Andhra Pradesh, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari. Authorities
warned that power could be cut off due to heavy rains and wind.
Meanwhile, due to the cyclone, it has been raining in the
coastal areas of Bangladesh since Wednesday (May 11) morning. The tidal water
has risen in the river. Strong winds are blowing over several kilometers of the
epicenter of the cyclone.
