3 killed as truck runs over motorbike in Dinajpur

At least three people, including a UP member, were killed when a truck rammed their motorcycle in Birol Upazila of Dinajpur.

The accident took place at 12:30 pm on Monday in the Mangalpur Chairman Bazar area on Dinajpur-Bochaganj road of ​the Upazila.

The deceased were identified as Md Rakib, 35, son of Abdul Aziz Babu of Doula village of Bochaganj upazila of Dinajpur, Md Tasim, 14, son of Nawhed Ali of Ranishankail municipal area of Thakurgaon district and Sadbin Osman, 24, son of Osman Gani of Gurgola Moholla of Dinajpur town.

Locals said, four people including UP members Md Rakib and Tasim were going to Bochaganj from Dinajpur city in a private car on Sunday night. When they reached Birol's Mangalpur area, their private car ran out of oil. Rakib and Tasim went to a filling station two kilometers away and asked Sadbin Osman, a motorcyclist, for help on their way back with the oil. 

When the three were on their way to the private car with oil, a truck heading towards Bochaganj hit their motorcycle, leaving the trio dead on the spot.

Birol's Mangalpur police investigation center in charge Md Raihan Ali Hafiz confirmed the information.
