We are ready to inaugurate Padma Bridge in June: Cabinet Secretary

Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam said the Padma Bridge would be inaugurated by the end of June. The bridge will be ready for traffic before the last week.

He made the remarks at a briefing at the secretariat after the cabinet meeting on Thursday (May 19). Earlier, the meeting was held at the Prime Minister's Office under her chairmanship.

Responding to a question from reporters, the cabinet secretary said, 'The Padma Bridge has been discussed before and also today, I think the Prime Minister herself will clear the matter in the next 4/5/6 days. The Padma Bridge will be inaugurated at the end of June, that's all she said. We are ready too. Hopefully the bridge will be ready before last week.'
