Hajj pilgrims to have free Covid test

The government has decided to provide free coronavirus tests to Bangladeshi pilgrims as hajj pilgrims are required to carry the negative report of the Covid-19 test done within 72 hours before boarding flight from Bangladesh this year.

Recently, the Health Services Division of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed the Ministry of Religious Affairs about the matter. Earlier, the Ministry of Religious Affairs had sent a letter to the Health Services Division requesting the same.

The letter from the Health Services Division said that the Ministry of Religious Affairs has been requested to provide free RTPCR tests to the pilgrims this year. Hajj pilgrims were instructed to complete the RTPCR test in the existing system in the country.

This time 57 thousand 585 people can perform Hajj from Bangladesh. Pilgrims must board the plane with a negative certificate of Covid test within 72 hours before departure.
