State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Mahbub Ali has said that the passengers will have to go through a health scanning just like it was done at the airport during the Covid period to enter the country.

He made the remarks after inspecting Shahjalal International Airport on Monday (May 23) morning.

The state minister said passengers from the affected countries would be specially screened.

The state minister also said that arrangements have been made for the passengers to get their luggage at the airport on time.

So far, monkeypox has spread to 15 countries around the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) warned on Saturday (May 21) that monkeypox could spread further. Although this rare infectious disease originates from Africa, it is spreading rapidly in Europe and America in recent times. And Israel is the first victim of the virus inside Asia.
