BNP leaders & activists should swim across the Padma river: Information Minister

Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said those who opposed and conspired against the Padma Bridge, including BNP leaders and activists, should cross the Padma River by swimming, not over the bridge. He also commented that those who opposed it should apologize.

He made the remarks in response to a question from reporters after the inaugural function of the 27th founding anniversary of the Dhaka Reporters' Unity on Thursday (May 26).

The Information Minister said, "I saw Khaleda Zia and Mirza Fakhrul Islam swimming across the Padma River on Facebook a while ago." Young children are very innovative. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has unleashed social media. That is why they are giving various opinions and comments.

He said that giving it means that many people think that since they had opposed and conspired against the Padma Bridge, they should swim across the river Padma and not use it.
