Cou celebrates 17th founding anniversary

Comilla University (Cou) authorities celebrated its 17th founding anniversary on 28 may (Sunday) amid festivity and enthusiasm.

To celebrate “Comilla University Day”, the university authorities have chalked out various programmes.

National and university flags will be hoisted and students, teachers and university staff will bring out processions. university structures will also be decorated.

Cou Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A F M Abdul Moyeen said,  Initially it started with 300 students in 6 departments but now it has grown in size. Teachers are much more experienced than before. Many teachers are doing PhD from outside and many are using that experience here. We have also found many teachers who are interested in research.

He also said, "I want Comilla University to be one of the best universities in Bangladesh in the future." For this we will provide for high quality Education."

Mentionable, Comilla University started its journey as the 26th public university in 28 may 2006  with only 50 acres land. Cou Started it’s academic activists in 2006-07 academic year with 6 departments, 300 students, 15 teachers and 50 staff.

The university today consists of 6 faculties, 19 departments, 5965 students, 266 teachers, 207 staff and 4 residential halls and 244.19 acres of land,

Now there are a total of 19 departments Under 6 faculties including Information & Communication Technology, Computer Science & Engineering, Pharmacy, Physics, Chemistry, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance and Banking, Accounting & Information Systems, Marketing, Management Studies, Mass Communication & Journalism, Law, Economics, Public Administration, Archeology, Anthropology, Bangla and English.
