Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen said the seventh meeting
of the Bangladesh-India Foreign Ministerial Joint Consultative Commission (JCC)
would be held in New Delhi on June 19 instead of May 30.
The foreign minister, who is attending the third meeting of
the Asian Confluence River Conclave-2022 (NADI) in Guwahati, Assam, told the
media in a briefing that, 'We have rescheduled it (the JCC meeting). We thought
it was okay, it would be good.'
Momen said the date has been rescheduled after talks with
Indian Foreign Minister S Jayashankar, who is in Guwahati to attend the
conclave meeting.
Without elaborating on the reasons for rescheduling the
meeting, the Bangladeshi foreign minister said there were some issues between
the two countries which had not been resolved yet.
Indicating that the two sides will meet on June 18 for
preparatory talks, Momen said the JCC meeting would be held on June 19.
Earlier in the evening, Momen said he had discussed some
"complex" bilateral issues with his Indian counterpart.
