Anti-drug operation in the capital, 54 arrested

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 54 people in an anti-drug operation in the capital. Police said they were arrested on charges of selling and consuming drugs.

They were detained during raids in different police stations in the capital from 6am on Saturday (May 28) to 6am on Sunday (May 29).

This information has been confirmed from the media branch of DMP.

According to the DMP, 9,605 pieces of yaba, 184 grams of 60 puria (small packets) heroin, 47 kg 75 gm 40 puria marijuana, 47 bottles of phensedyl, 3 bottles of domestic liquor and 1 gm of narcotic ice were seized from them.

39 cases have been filed against the accused under the Narcotics Control Act at DMP police station.
