Awami League joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif
has said that the party will hold protests and demonstrations across the
country on June 4. He said the protests would be in protest of the death
threats against Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He made the remarks while leaving after a joint meeting on
Tuesday (May 31).
A joint meeting of the Awami League with the presidents and
general secretaries of the Dhaka Metropolitan North and South Awami League and
all allied organizations and the mayors of the Dhaka North and South City
Corporation was held at the central office of the Awami League at 23
Bangabandhu Avenue in the morning.
Also present at the meeting were Awami League General
Secretary Obaidul Quader, Awami League Presidium Member Farak Khan, Dr Abdur
Razzak, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Dr Dipu Moni, Dr Hasan Mahmud, AFM Bahauddin
Nasim, Organizing Secretary Ahmed Hossain, Mirza Azam, Advocate Afzal Hossain,
Liberation War Secretary Mrinal Kanti Das, Relief Secretary Suji Roy Nandi, Relief
Secretary Suji Roy Nandi, Office Secretary Biplob Barua, Law Secretary
Najibullah Hiru, Science and Technology Secretary Abdus Sabur, Deputy Publicity
Secretary Aminul Islam Amin, Dhaka North City Mayor Atiqul Islam, President and
General Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan North South.
