PM to attend ECNEC meeting physically after two years

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend the ECNEC meeting physically today after two years. Due to corona epidemic she didn’t physically join the meeting, though she approved the development project by joining video conference from her residence Ganobhaban.

The Prime Minister will preside over the ECNEC meeting on Wednesday (June 1) by attending the NEC conference room at Agargaon in the capital. The matter has been confirmed by the Planning Commission.

Commission officials said the Prime Minister had not attended the ECNEC meeting in person since Corona was identified in the country in March 2020. But she is physically attending today's meeting.

Eight projects will be presented for approval at today's ECNEC meeting, officials said. The total cost of implementation of the projects has been estimated at Tk 2,481 crore.

Planning Minister MA Mannan and State Minister for Planning Dr Shamsul Alam will give details at the press conference after the ECNEC meeting.
