Gold worth 3 crore seized in Chattogram airport, one detained

About four kilograms of gold (a chain weighing 100 grams and 34 gold bars) worth approximately Tk 3 crore was seized from a passenger at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram.

These gold bars were seized from Saiful Islam, a passenger of Air Arabia Airlines from Sharjah on Wednesday morning.

AKM Sultan Mahmud, deputy director of the Chattogram Regional Office of Customs Detective, said the man was searched at Shah Amanat International Airport on the basis of secret information and 34 gold bars, and a gold chain weighing 100 grams were seized from his body.

Saiful Islam was arrested at that time. The official also said that legal action would be taken against him.
