Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted
that light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty
wind may occur at different parts of the country in 24 hours as of 9 am
tomorrow.
Light to moderate rain or thundershower with temporary gusty
or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh,
Sylhet and Chattogram divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka,
Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places
over the country, said a met office bulletin issued here.
"Trough of low lies over Northwest Bay. Monsoon is
fairly active over Northern part, less active elsewhere over the country and
weak to moderate over North Bay," it added.
However, the day temperature may rise by (1-2) degrees
Celsius and night temperature may rise slightly over the country.
Country's maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded 36.4
degrees Celsius at Jashore and minimum temperature today was 22.3 degrees
Celsius jointly at Rajarhat and Cumilla.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6am today was
recorded 144 mm at Sylhet.
The sun sets at 6.43 pm today and rises at 5.11 am tomorrow
in the capital.
