Anti-drug drive in the capital, 53 arrested

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 53 people in anti-drug operations in different parts of the capital. They were arrested on charges of selling and consuming drugs.

This information was confirmed by the Public Relations Department of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

During the arrest, 1798 pieces of yaba tablets, 218 grams 100 puria (small packet) of pure heroin, 20 kg and 765 grams of cannabis, 140 bottles of Phensedyl and 10 liters of domestic liquor were recovered from them.

From 6 am on Monday (June 6) to 6 am on Tuesday (June 7), raids were carried out in different police stations of the capital and drugs were recovered from them.

42 cases have been filed against the arrested under the Narcotics Control Act at the concerned police station.
