14-member committee to organize the inauguration ceremony of the Padma Bridge

A 14-member main committee has been formed in consultation with Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader to ensure smooth functioning of the inauguration ceremony of the Padma Bridge.

A notification regarding this committee has been issued by the bridge department on Sunday (June 5).

Besides, bridge secretary Manjur Hossain will be the convener of the committee. The Joint Secretary (Administration) of the Bridges Department will act as the Member Secretary.

This committee will coordinate the activities of all the sub-committees formed for the smooth conduct of the inaugural function and provide overall direction. The committee can also co-opt new members if required.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the much awaited Padma Bridge on June 25 at 10 am. This bridge will be named after Padma river.
