Budget allocation for education has increased by Tk9,495 crore

In the coming 2022-23 financial year, the allocation in the education sector under the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education and the Ministry of Education is increasing. A total allocation of Tk 9,495 crore has been proposed for the coming financial year as compared to the current financial year.

A total allocation of Tk 81,449 crore has been proposed for these two ministries in the coming financial year, which was Tk71,954 crore for the current fiscal year.

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal mentioned this in the budget allocation for the fiscal year 2022-23 in the National Assembly on Thursday (June 9).

It has been proposed to allocate Tk 31,761 crore for the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, which was Tk26,314 crore for the current fiscal year. An allocation of Tk 39,961 crore has been proposed for the Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, which was Tk36,487 crore for current fiscal year.

An allocation of Tk 9,727 crore has been proposed for the Technical and Madrasa Education Department of the Ministry of Education, which was 9,153 for the current fiscal year.
