No over enthusiastic official should spoil the voting environment: Bahar

Comilla Sadar MP AKM Bahauddin Bahar has urged that an over enthusiastic official not to spoil the voting environment. He also said that the election is being held in a beautiful environment.

He was speaking to reporters after casting his ballot at the Comilla Victoria Collegiate School on Wednesday (June 15th). Earlier, he had cast his vote at the polling center at 11:18 am.

MP Bahar said, I have voted. Voting is taking place in a beautiful environment. Voting is taking place in a festive atmosphere. There is no disturbance anywhere.

"I request to the law enforcement agencies to ensure a fair voting environment for the voter," he said.

Voting is going on in 189 elections including Comilla City Corporation (CCC), Upazila, Municipality and Union Parishad using the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). Voting started at 8 am and will continue till 4 pm.

Voting will take place in 640 polling booths of 105 polling stations in CCC election. The total number of voters in 26 wards of Comilla City Corporation is 2 lakh 29 thousand 920 people. Of these, 1 lakh 17 thousand 92 are female voters and 1 lakh 12 thousand 826 are male voters. There are also two third gender voters.
