Anti-drug operation in the capital, 70 arrested

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Crime and Intelligence Division has arrested 70 people, with a large quantity of drugs, in anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital.

This information was confirmed by the Media and Public Relations Department of DMP on Sunday (June 26) morning.

According to the DMP, they were arrested as part of the DMP's regular anti-drug drive, on Saturday (June 25) from 6am to today Sunday 6am in different police stations in the capital.

During the arrest, 1,153 pieces of yaba, 119 kg 430 grams of cannabis, 11.5 grams of heroin and 34 bottles of phensedyl were seized from them.

A total of 39 cases have been registered against the arrested under the Narcotics Control Act.
