Two pedestrians killed by covered van in Narsingdi

Two pedestrians were killed when a covered van lost control and hit them at Raipura in Narsingdi. Another pedestrian was seriously injured at the time.

The accident took place in Mahmudabad Bazar area of the upazila on Thursday (June 30) morning. The names of the victims were not immediately known.

According to locals, a covered van heading towards Sylhet on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway lost control in the Mahmudabad area of Raipur in the morning and went in the opposite direction. Two were killed and one was seriously injured when the van hit them. The injured person was rescued and taken to the local health complex.

Bhairab Highway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mozammel Hossain confirmed the matter and said the covered van had been seized.
