The Supreme Court of Bangladesh
issued a historic directive on Tuesday, June 28. A division bench comprising
Justice Mohammad Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Kazi Izarul Haque Akand gave
a specific direction on the conspiracy over the Padma Bridge. The High Court
bench has directed to form a commission within the next 30 days to identify
those involved in the conspiracy. The High Court has directed the commission to
submit a report within two months. A hearing has been fixed for August 28 in
this regard. The High Court bench termed the Padma Bridge as a 'national
asset'. The High Court termed those who conspire against such national
interests as national enemies. This is the first time in Bangladesh that the
Supreme Court has directly directed to unmask a conspiracy. Through this
directive, the court gave a strong message against those who are against the
national interest. National enemy means enemy of the country. Those who take a
stand against the country or the state are traitors. Such a traitor should be
given the maximum punishment. On Wednesday, a day after the court's directive,
a statement from the Yunus Center was sent to the media. In the statement, Dr
Yunus denied all the allegations against him. The statement of a genius like
Dr. Yunus is incoherent, inconsistent. He claimed in the statement that, he
filed a writ petition in the High Court seeking protection of Grameen Bank's
basic legal status, when asked to resign in 2011. It has nothing to do with
holding a job. What a joke! The writ petition was filed seeking directions to
reinstate Dr. Yunus but now he says it had nothing to do with holding the job. The
whole statement is full of such confusions. The statement came shortly after
the High Court directed the formation of the commission. The reason is very
obvious. He is just trying to get rid of any liability. That means there is
something fishy. There was no protest no statement, nothing for a long period
of time. Then suddenly why this statement after the court asked to form a
commission? He is screaming "I am not a conspirator," even before the
commission is formed. Every achievement of Bangladesh came through many
sacrifices. Various conspiracies have stood in the way of every achievement.
Sometimes at home, sometimes abroad. Domestic and foreign conspiracies have
again united and making every effort to thwart the achievement of the government.
In the liberation war of 1971, the murderous Mushtaq group conspired against
the interest of the country. They were busy with the confederation proposal
with pakistan in the midst of war. Sensing this, Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed removed
Mushtaq from the Foreign Office. The father of the nation was assassinated in
’75 to erase the existence of Bengalis. The assassination plot was hatched
within the Awami League. In 2007, there was a conspiracy to thwart the demand
for free, fair and neutral elections. The conspirators were a part of our civil
society. Some cowardly politicians joined the greedy and cunning civilians.
There was also a conspiracy over the Padma bridge. The conspiracy was led by
some prominent personalities of the country under the leadership of the head of
civil society Dr Yunus. The main aim of these conspiracies was to stop the
progress Bangladesh. Erasing the existence of Bangladesh. All conspiracies are
treason. But unfortunately, we have not been able to uncover or even show
interest in unveiling the conspiracy. One conspiracy has laid the groundwork
for another. After the liberation war, there was a demand to form a commission
on who played what role in the liberation war. At that time Bangabandhu was
concentrating on building the country. Therefore, he was not interested in
forming a commission. The Father of the Nation began the trial of war criminals.
He started the trial of these local accomplices of the Pakistani aggressors by
dalal law. If this trial had continued, masked anti-independence activists
could have been identified. They could be separated from the Awami League and
the government. But that process was thwarted on August 15, 1975. After '75,
Sheikh Hasina took the helm of the Awami League. Ever since she took over the
leadership of the Awami League in 1981, she has been working tirelessly to
demand the trial of Bangabandhu's assassination and the repeal of the Indemnity
Ordinance. She formed public opinion. Campaigned for human rights. After 21
long years, the Awami League government was formed in 1996 under the leadership
of Sheikh Hasina. The Indemnity Ordinance was then repealed and the trial of
Bangabandhu's murder began. In 2009, Sheikh Hasina became the Prime Minister
for the second time and completed the trial of Bangabandhu's assassination. The
maximum punishment is meted out to several self-confessed murderers. But the
conspiracy to assassinate Bangabandhu was not investigated. Several leaders,
including Awami League President Sheikh Hasina, have been demanding the
formation of a 'commission of inquiry' into the matter for years. Last year, on
the occasion of National Mourning Day, Awami League leader Jahangir Kabir Nanak
proposed to form a 'National Commission' to investigate the conspiracy of the assassination
of Bangabandhu in presence of the prime minister. "We have tried the
murder of the father of the nation, but we have not been able to investigate
this blueprint," he said. The Awami League president raised various issues
of the August conspiracy on various occasions of the National Mourning Day. The
Prime Minister said, ‘such a big party with so many leaders, but no one came
forward. Why didn’t a protest march take place?’ Many questions come to mind
when I think about the August tragedy. Why did all the members of the cabinet
of the Awami League become obedient servants of the murderer Mushtaq? Why did
the chiefs of the three forces remain silent like puppets? Who or what
persuaded Bangabandhu to cancel Zia's transfer order as ambassador? Many such questions.
Many of those who were around at the time of the August tragedy are gone. And
after a while, no witnesses will be found either, in the search for the truth. Why
has the Awami League government not yet set up a commission to uncover the root
cause of the August conspiracy? I just can't find the answer to this question. One-Eleven
was a conspiracy against democracy and politics in Bangladesh. Some of the
conspirators known for this conspiracy are now in abroad, some in the country. In
this regard, the blueprint for depoliticization of 1-11 was not implemented due
to the courage and determination of Sheikh Hasina. But the real details of this
conspiracy against democracy have not been revealed even today. Why did Dr.
Yunus win the Nobel Prize before One-Eleven? That too in peace! How the Nobel
Prize was promoted as an achievement of one person (Grameen Bank Dr. Yunus)
instead of collective is also a great question. Dr. Yunus tried to form a
political party immediately after winning the Nobel. Daily Star editor Mahfuz
Anam joined that political party! Political conflict over elections. To push
the people into extreme uncertainty. Two front-line dailies (one Bengali, one
English) are relentlessly denigrating politicians. Then to put elite
bureaucrats like Dr. Fakhruddin on the throne. Everything tidy implementation
of the perfect blueprint. Everything is the implementation of a perfect blueprint.
Then with the constitutional fatwa of Dr. Kamal Hossain to give legitimacy to
the illegal unelected government. The two editors endlessly appease the
caretaker government. One columnist wrote in his own name, "Two leaders
must move." Another set the stage for Sheikh Hasina's arrest without any verification
of the intelligence agency's notes. Everything is like a garland in one thread.
In the interest of the country, in the interest of democracy, in the interest
of the people, it was necessary to form a commission of inquiry into the events
of 1-11; But it did not. The murderer Mushtaq conspired to assassinate the
father of the nation because there was no investigation against the
conspirators during the Great Liberation War. Similarly, the lack of
investigation into the conspirators of 1-11 gave them the courage to conspire
against the Padma Bridge. The conspiracies of 1971, 1975, 2007 and 2011 are
intertwined. All these conspiracies are actually against Bangladesh. The
conspirators of the conspiracies of '71 and '75 were one and the same. The
conspirators of the conspiracies of '71 and '75 were one and the same.
Similarly, the conspirators of One-Eleven were united in the conspiracy against
the Padma Bridge. The conspirators of '71 and '75 are war criminals, murderers.
And the conspirators of 2007 and 2011 are anti-democratic, anti-state.
Why did Dr. Yunus obstruct the
Padma Bridge? Why did the conspirators of 1-11 join him? The issue of Dr. Yunus
has come up every time Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has spoken about the
conspiracy against the construction of the Padma Bridge. Dr. Yunus was the
Managing Director of Grameen Bank. Managing directors of government banks have
a fixed age limit for employment. The prescribed age of the Managing Director
of Grameen Bank had passed long ago. So the Bangladesh Bank sent him to retire.
Dr. Yunus went to the High Court challenging the notification of Bangladesh
Bank. The Supreme Court informed that the decision of Bangladesh Bank was
correct. Finding no way, Dr. Yunus started lobbying. The then US Secretary of
State Hillary Clinton also telephoned Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. She also
gave a hidden threat. But neither Hillary nor Yunus probably had any idea of
what Sheikh Hasina is made of. She is the daughter of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. She
will never bow to these pressures. One pressure followed by another. The next
one was from the World Bank. The World Bank cut off funding for the Padma
Bridge. Dr. Yunus, who grew up in the moneylender business, knew that other
donors would move away if the World Bank stopped funding. I think, Dr. Yunus
realized that if Sheikh Hasina was the Prime Minister, he would not be able to
return to the post of Managing Director of Grameen Bank. That is why he
conspired to remove the Sheikh Hasina government. After losing the post of MD
of Grameen Bank, he wanted to take revenge by occupying the highest post in the
state. Wanted to create another 1-11. Stopping the funding for the Padma Bridge
was in fact a conspiracy to overthrow the government. On June 29, 2012, the
World Bank officially canceled the loan agreement, just a year and a half
before the parliamentary elections. At this time, if we keep an eye on the two
newspapers of 'Minus Formula Proponents', we will see various stories about
corruption and irregularities. Dr. Badiul Alam Majumder, Dr. Devapriya
Bhattacharya, Dr. Shahdin Malik and some other civil servants became penmen to
prove corruption in the Padma Bridge! What the World Bank said at the time
about moving away from the construction of the Padma Bridge has already been
widely publicized in the country's media. I don't want to mention that here
anymore; But there was only one aim of this organized pounding attack - to
prove the government is corrupt. The civils come to power on the shoulders of
the political parties. In 2007, the civils took power on the shoulders of the
BNP. The BNP took all such decisions one after the other with Iajuddin Ahmed
which closed the door of minimum fair election. In 2012, the civil society also
blueprinted the beginning of another 'unelected' chapter with the BNP in mind. BNP
chairperson Khaleda Zia took to the field demanding a non-partisan caretaker
government. She started saying in her speech that there will be no Padma bridge
during the tenure of this government. By saying such unrealistic, ridiculous
things, she became the plaything of the civils.
After winning all the city
corporations in 2013, when the confidence of the BNP leaders and workers was at
its peak, Begum Zia announced the boycott of the national elections. The World
Bank's certificate on corruption in the Padma Bridge and the announcement of a
boycott of Begum Zia's election have paved the way for civil society. What the
two civil editors did before One-Eleven is back on the field in exactly the
same role. But they probably forgot about the immortal message of Karl Marx. Marx
said, "The same thing does not happen again and again in history."
The election was held in 2014. Another unelected government failed to seize
power, as it did in 2007. As a result, the conspiracy to remove an elected
government using the 'Padma Bridge' as trump card was foiled. This conspiracy
was foiled only for one man. Her name is Sheikh Hasina. Like One-Eleven, this
time also, some important people of the Awami League said, "The Padma
bridge cannot be built with its own funds." Some key figures in the
government rushed to Washington to renegotiate the loan agreement on World Bank
terms. But Sheikh Hasina is a farsighted statesman. He knew who was conspiring
against the Padma bridge and why they are you doing it. On July 4, 2012,
ignoring the views of many important people in the government, she made a
historic announcement in the National Assembly to build the Padma Bridge with its
own funds. On July 8, she presented a plan to build the Padma Bridge with its
own funds. It was approved by the cabinet on July 9. Then started an incredible
battle to make the impossible possible. That is why the Prime Minister said in
Parliament on Wednesday, June 29, "Our passion, our creativity, our
courage, our endurance, our conviction are involved with this bridge. In the
end, we saw the light through the darkness. 'This was Sheikh Hasina's second
victory against the civilians. It was the civilians who played an ugly game of
making Sheikh Hasina corrupt and extortionist in 2007. She was arrested on several
false charges. Wanted to deduct her from politics. Exactly five years later,
the same clique wanted to tarnish the image of the Bangabandhu family for the
sake of personal gain by spreading rumors about the Padma Bridge. Wanted to
exclude Sheikh Hasina from politics again. But just as Sheikh Hasina dispelled
the darkness of all untruths in the light of honesty during 1-11, so she became
as brave as the Himalayas in 2012. In the end she proved that she was right.
There are some people in this
country who always want to harm others. Thousands of their own sins, but they
are busy looking for the faults of others. The welfare, wellbeing and
prosperity of people - everything is very unpleasant to them. This group does
not want democracy in the country. When they see development, they seek for corruption.
They cry when they see Bangladesh as a self-reliant country standing their head
high in the world. The command of their foreign masters is the immortal word
for them. The Padma Bridge has unmasked them in front of Bangladesh. The Padma
Bridge has proved that they are not telling the truth. They do not want the
welfare of the country.
