Responding to a call from Bangladesh Jewelers Association
(BAJUS) President Sayem Sobhan Anvir, India's top businessmen have expressed
interest in jointly investing in setting up new factories in the country's
jewelery industry.
Calling on Indian businessmen to invest in Bangladesh, Bajus
President Sayem Sobhan Anvir said, "Bangladesh has skilled goldsmiths and
India has skilled designers. By utilizing these two types of capabilities of
the two countries we will be capable of joint marketing. If the two neighboring
countries work together, we will be at the forefront of the jewelry industry in
the world. No one will be able to stop us."
Bajus President Sayem Sobhan Anvir was speaking as the chief
guest at the inaugural function of the two-day 'Sonar Bangla' Jewelery Expo
organized by Indian company KNC Services at Hotel The Leela in Goa, India on
June 28.

Bajus said that Goa Chief Minister Shri Promod Sawant addressed the event in a
video message.
Bashundhara Group Director Sabrina Sobhan was present on the

Bangladesh has a reputation for handmade jewelery. Taking advantage of this
opportunity, Indian businessmen want to come forward with technical and
technological support.
Speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function, Bajus
President Sayem Sobhan Anvir said, "India is far ahead of Bangladesh in
the jewelery sector. Bangladesh is now trying to stand up. My request is that
India, as our close friend and neighbor, extend a hand of cooperation to
Bangladesh. I invite Indian jewelery traders to set up manufacturing plants in
Bangladesh. If Bangladesh and India work together, the business of both the
countries will improve. As a result, we will be able to expand our business
more than any other country in the world."
In a video message on the occasion, Goa Chief Minister Shri
Promod Sawant said, "I am sorry that I could not attend the function due
to emergency state work." Congratulations and thanks to Bajus President
Sayem Sobhan Anvir for coming to Goa. We are ready to provide technical
