State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr
Mohammad Enamur Rahman said the government would stand by the flood victims in
the rehabilitation process. He also said that steps would be taken soon to
compensate for the flood damage.
He made the remarks while exchanging post-Eid greetings at
his office in the Secretariat on Tuesday (July 12).
The state minister said, "We have already received the
information about the amount of damage. We are compiling it from the ministry. I
will inform about what damage has been done by holding a press conference. We
will take a quick initiative to make up for the loss by holding an
inter-ministerial meeting.''
Stating that the People have gone through a lot of hardships
during the floods, he said, “However, the joy of Eid has been seen as the flood
waters have receded.” We extend our condolences to the flood victims. We will
stand by the rehabilitation process. "
The state minister said, "We have provided adequate
humanitarian assistance and also gave cash, so that the flood victims can enjoy
the joy of Eid."
"On the occasion of Eid, we have given two crore Tk in
cash, one thousand metric tons of rice, four thousand bundles of tin, one crore
20 lakh Tk for housing wages."
