CEC urges all parties to participate in the national elections

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal has urged all parties to participate in the upcoming national elections.

He made this call in a meeting with NDM on the first day of dialogue with registered political parties on Sunday (July 17).

At this time, the CEC called for a political settlement of the political crisis.

The EC will hold meetings with the Nationalist Democratic Movement from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, the Bangladesh Nationalist Front (BNF) from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, Bangladesh Congress from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm and the Bangladesh Muslim League (BML) from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. EC will sit in dialogue with 39 registered political parties including Awami League and BNP.

Earlier, the Election Commission had invited 39 registered political parties to verify the EVMs in which 28 political parties participated. However, 11 political parties, including BNP, rejected the EC's invitation.
