Iran has blacklisted 61 US officials for allegedly supporting and aiding the terrorist organization Mujahideen-e Khalq in the country, reports Reuters.

Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs released the list of 61 former and current US officials on Saturday (July 16). It has been mentioned that they have been giving deliberate support to the Mujahideen-e Khalq (MEK) organization. Tehran sees it as a terrorist organization. The organization has been openly calling for the overthrow of the Islamic Revolutionary Government of Iran.

After the Islamic Revolution, the organization has killed at least 17,000 innocent Iranian citizens with the support of the United States and its Western allies.

Iran's blacklist includes former US President Donald Trump's administration Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, US House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Senate Ted Cruz and Cory Booker. Apart from this, the former national security adviser of the United States, Lincoln Bloomfield, is also in the list.

Tehran claims that those whose names appear in the list have supported the terrorist organization MEK on various occasions. The MKO group currently operates independently from Albania.

According to Al-Jazeera's report, after the Islamic Revolution, this group has killed at least 17,000 innocent Iranian citizens, including women and children, with the support of the United States and its Western allies.
