Free, fair and peaceful elections are essential by any means: CEC

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal said, we want acceptable elections by creating favorable environment and level foundation. Free, fair and peaceful elections are essential by any means.

He also said that, an accountable and responsible parliament is needed.

He said these things in a dialogue with the Islamic Front at the election building in Agargaon on Monday (July 18).

The Chief Election Commissioner said, EC cannot have any objection if BNP comes to the election under a new system after reaching to an agreement with the Awami League.

The Election Commission (EC) is in dialogue with the political parties regarding the upcoming 12th National Election. Bangladesh Islami Front came to the EC at 10:30 am on the second day of the dialogue on Monday.
