Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has not been able to succeed
even though it has taken several initiatives to organize the Bangladesh T20
team, for quite some time. BCB governing body is thinking about several changes
in the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe.
A BCB director said that Shakib Al Hasan is being made T20I
captain and Nurul Hasan Sohan will be his deputy. Shakib will be asked to take
over the captaincy of the team in Zimbabwe series. If he does not agree,
vice-captain Sohan will lead the team in the three-match series.
If BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon agrees, the cricket
management department can implement this plan, said the official.
Team Bangladesh will fly to Zimbabwe on July 26 to play
three T20Is and as many ODIs. T20I matches will be played on July 30 and August
1 and 2. ODIs will be held on August 5, 7, and 10 respectively. The squad for
the bilateral series is likely to be announced today.
