Serious crimes taking place in country's banking sector: HC

The High Court has commented that serious crimes are being committed in the banking sector of the country. The Supreme Court made such comments while hearing the anticipatory bail application of four bank officials of First Security Islami Bank.

A bench consisting of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Khizir Hayat made such comments during the hearing of the anticipatory bail application of four bank officials on Tuesday (July 26). At that time the High Court ordered them to surrender to the Special Tribunal of Chapainawabganj within four weeks.

The court said that the banking sector in the country is in a very fragile situation. This is the most fragile sector now. It needs to be reformed. The amount of looting, fraud, corruption in this sector is terrible. This needs to be stopped.

Deputy Attorney General AKM Amin Uddin Manik was present in the court today for the hearing of the state.
