Everyone must work hard to have free, fair elections: CEC

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal said, we want free and fair elections. Everyone has to work hard to fulfill that wish. He said, the Election Commission (EC) will be managed according to the laws and rules. We cannot go beyond that.

He made these comments while sitting in a dialogue with Zaker's party at the election building on Wednesday (July 27).

He further said, there is no way to deny democracy. The journey of our independent country has started through democracy. For the we need everyone’s cooperation. We want your full support and active participation in the upcoming elections. Because in order to control the election field, all parties must cooperate.

CEC said, if all of you participate, then there will be a balance in the election and our work will be easier.

A nine-member delegation led by Acting General Secretary of Zaker Party Shamim Haider, four Election Commissioners and senior EC officials participated in the dialogue.
