6 people sentenced to death for crimes against humanity in Khulna

The International Criminal Tribunal has announced the death sentence of 6 people from Batiaghata in Khulna in the case of crimes against humanity.

On Thursday (July 28), the three-member tribunal headed by Justice Mo Shahinur Islam, chairman of the International Criminal Tribunal, announced the verdict.

The 203-page verdict was read out at 10:35 am. Justice KM Hafizul Alam read the first part of the verdict. The second part was read by Justice Abu Ahmed Jamadar.

Before reading the judgement, he said, no criminal against humanity is being judged based on their current age; The trial is taking place considering the crimes they committed in 71. The people that you see over 80 years old now, were 30 years then.

Tribunal Chairman Justice Md Shahinur Islam read the main part of the verdict in the court.

The six accused convicted in this case are Amjad Hossain Howlader, Sahar Ali Sardar, Atiyar Rahman, Motachim Billah, Kamal Uddin Goldar and Nazrul Islam. Nazrul Islam is absconding among them.

Earlier, on July 26 (Tuesday), the tribunal fixed today (July 28) to announce the verdict of 6 people in the case of crimes against humanity.
