Playing with fire will have dire consequences: Quader

Urging BNP not to play with fire, Awami League General Secretary, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that if they play with fire, the consequences will be dire. Addressing BNP, he further said, "We are the old players of the street." BNP is new in this game.

Quader said these things after paying homage to Bangamata mausoleum, on the occasion of 92^nd birth anniversary of Bangamata Bagum Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib at Banani Cemetery in the capital on Monday (August 8) morning.

He said that any destructive program of opposition parties including BNP will be dealt with on the streets.

Obaidul Quader also said that Sheikh Mujib was able to become the father of the nation from Bangabandhu because he had a noble woman like Fazilatunnessa Mujib as a fellow warrior. Without a woman of wisdom and patience like her, it would have been difficult for the father of the nation to bring freedom to a nation.

Awami League observed 1-minute silence after paying homage at Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib's mausoleum. Later, they prayed for the forgiveness of the souls of Bangamata, the martyrs of August 15 and for the peace, progress and prosperity of the nation.

Awami League presidium members Shajahan Khan, Khairuzzaman Liton, Dr. Abdur Razzak, Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Joint General Secretary Mahbub Ul Alam Hanif, Dr. Hashan Mahmud, AFM Bahauddin Nashim, Organizing Secretary SM Kamal Hossain, Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr. Abdus Sobhan Golap, Science and Technology Affairs Secretary Engineer Abdus Sabur and others were also present at that time.
