Tahsildar and UP secretaries are most powerful and corrupt

In order to ensure the socio-economic development of the country, the monitoring of local government management should be increased. Union Parishad, Agriculture Officer, Tehsildar and UP Secretaries must stop corruption. Planning Minister MA Mannan said that Tehsildar and UP Secretaries are most powerful and corrupt.

The Minister said this at a civic conference on 'Commitment to National Development: Education, Quality Employment, Gender Equality' at Lakeshore Hotel in the capital on Saturday (August 13).

Urging to increase surveillance in the local government system, he said, attention should be paid to this matter from the national level. They are much more powerful. Because of this, the marginalized people do not get fair services. They work with marginalized people. But you will see that these tehsildars and UP members live in a good environment, they come to office in the morning in good vehicles.

Highlighting the global crisis situation, he further said that the world is in turmoil now. But that wave also hit us. Our head of government is running the country properly. So, all of us are cutting costs, adopting frugality.

Stating that the Awami League government is strengthening the implementation of the election manifesto, the minister said that the government is implementing the manifesto. However, the wants and needs of the village and city people are not the same. Villagers want various allowance cards, water, sanitation, bridges and roads. Stable environment is needed in the country for development. For this, polite politics is needed. Decent employment alone will not lead to development. Voters of the country want stable environment and employment. This is what the current government is doing.

MA Mannan said, I belong to a backward family. So I understand their suffering. So, whenever I have time, I go to the village by pulse. I work to solve the problems of village people. Awami League has some national manifesto, we who stand for vote also have some manifesto. By looking at the daily condition of the people in the village, we give some manifesto of our own.
