T Sports owned by Bashundhara Group, the country's top industrial family, has bought the broadcasting rights of 'The Greatest Show on Earth' FIFA World Cup 2022 in Bangladesh. Every match of World Cup football, which will start in Qatar from November 20, will be broadcasted live on the country's only sports channel, T Sports.

Safwan Sobhan, Vice Chairman of Bashundhara Group and Managing Director of T Sports, said, “As the first sports channel in the country, we have been taking the initiative of live broadcasting of all the popular events of the sports world since the beginning. The FIFA World Cup is the most prestigious event in the world of sports. The passion of the people of this country towards football and FIFA World Cup has always been different. That is why we have continued to negotiate to get the rights to broadcast the FIFA World Cup in Bangladesh. We are grateful to FIFA for choosing T Sports as a partner to broadcast the World Cup.”

The 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup will begin in Qatar on November 20. As the World Cup is going to be held in an Asian country, the timings of this World Cup game is great. The group stage matches will start at 4 pm, 7 pm, 10 pm and 1 am Bangladesh time.

Apart from telecasting all FIFA World Cup matches, TSports will diversify the World Cup-centric TV shows. As a surprise, former footballers who played football World Cup for various countries in Europe and Latin America will join. In this context, T Sports Chief Executive Ishtiaq Sadek said, 'There have been various events in Bangladesh before the Football World Cup. But, our thinking is completely different this time. We want to create a program that can compete with various international sports channels. That's how everything is planned. Hopefully, T Sports viewers will get a show to be proud of.'

Meanwhile, apart from the original 'flagship' show, T Sports will host exceptional events with celebrities, football fans and T Sports viewers. The World Cup Bulletin will be packed with all the latest World Cup news, match previews from World Cup host Qatar and match analysis will be done by T Sports' Football Beat staff. That's why full production team will be sent there. Besides, T Sports will try their best to tie the whole Bangladesh World Cup frenzy into one thread. In this context, Ishtiaq Sadek said - 'The World Cup is a festival for the whole world in my view. People all over the world celebrate every moment of the World Cup forgetting all kinds of discrimination. We want to showcase everything possible on T Sports screen. That is why we have been planning for the last few months. Hopefully something great will happen.'

As the first and only sports channel of Bangladesh, it has been broadcasting various events in and outside the country since its inception. The 2022 FIFA World Cup will add a new feather to the wings of success for T Sports. T Sports, the youngest member of Bashundhara Group-owned East West Media Group, started its journey in November 2020 with the Bangladesh-Nepal Bangabandhu International FIFA Friendly Series.
