The High Court has granted anticipatory bail to the sacked Mayor Jahangir Alam of Gazipur City Corporation. He was granted this bail in 7 cases filed in different parts of the country on allegations of controversial comments about the Liberation War and Bangabandhu. A High Court bench granted him bail for six weeks on August 4. Jahangir Alam's lawyer gave this information on Monday (August 22).

A video of Mayor Jahangir Alam's conversation secretly recorded in September last year went viral on social media Facebook.
