Samrat gets bail in ACC case

The court has granted bail to Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat, the expelled president of Dhaka Metropolitan South Jubo League, in the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) case on the charge of acquiring wealth beyond known income.

On Monday (August 22), Judge Al Asad Md Asifuzzaman of Dhaka's Special Judge Court-6 granted his bail after the hearing. This morning he was presented in the court from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSSMU).

Earlier, August 11 was fixed for Samrat 's bail hearing and charge-sheet hearing. As the Samrat was ill, the jail authorities sent him a custody warrant instead of sending him to court. After that, Judge Al Asad Mo Asifuzzaman of Dhaka Special Judge Court-6 fixed August 22 for his bail hearing and charge-making hearing.
