The information being spread on social media about the
exclusion of religious education from the new curriculum is not correct.
Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni said that it is a rumor.
She said this in response to a question from journalists at
the end of a press conference titled 'Orion Trek with Nishat' at Maulana Akram
Kha Auditorium of the National Press Club on Saturday (August 27).
She said that a special section on social media is spreading
misinformation as part of anti-government campaign. They are trying to spread
propaganda about new curriculum without finding any issue. This is not true at
all. We have already exposed all the misinformation about the new curriculum to
the public.
The scope of education will further expand through the new
curriculum. We are working to expand students' knowledge skills, values through
new curriculum. Religion, ethics, values are an integral part of this
curriculum.
Noting that there is no question of eliminating religious
education, the education minister said, the information of narrowing down any
special education is absolutely not correct, as skills and knowledge are being
expanded.
