Anti-drug operation in the capital, 59 arrested

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested 59 people for selling and consuming drugs in the capital.

They were arrested by raiding various police stations in Dhaka from 6 am on Sunday (September 4) to 6 am on Monday (September 5).

Deputy Commissioner of Media and Public Relations Department of DMP Md Farooq Hossain said that

5 thousand 80 pieces of yaba, 41 grams of 10 puriya (small packet) heroin, 22 kg of 780 grams of ganja, 19 bottles of Phensedyl and 5 liters of local liquor were seized from the accused.

He said that 45 cases under the Narcotics Control Act have been filed against the accused at the DMP police station.
