First janaja of Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury held

Awami League presidium member and Jatiya Sangsad deputy leader Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury's first janaja has been completed.

The funeral was held on Monday (September 12) at 11:15 a.m., at the Mahendra Narayan Academy ground in Nagarkanda Upazila of Faridpur, her constituency.

Nagarkanda Madinatul Uloom Madrasa teacher Ismatullah Kasemi conducted the janaja. Central leader Mirza Azam, District Awami League President Shamim Haque, General Secretary Shah Md Ishtiaq Arif, Faridpur Deputy Commissioner Atul Sarkar, Superintendent of Police Md Shahjahan and thousands of people from different areas and profession participated in the janaja.

Earlier, her body was taken to Nagarkanda by a Bangladesh Army Corpse carrying van at around 11 o'clock.

Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, presidium member of Awami League and deputy leader of parliament, breathed her last at 11:40 pm on Sunday while undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital of the capital. It is known that she was admitted to CMH a few days ago with old age related problems including high blood pressure. Sajeda Chowdhury was sick for several years.
