Chhatra Dal's new committee: Tarek's 100 crore trade

Finally, the full committee of 302 members of Chhatra Dal has been announced. This full committee was announced on Sunday, September 11. This committee was announced about five months after the names of the president and general secretary were announced. In the committee, 22 people have been made vice-presidents, 82 people have been made joint general secretaries. 20 lakhs were taken from each of the 22 vice-presidents. And 82 joint general secretaries have given 10 lakhs each. Five lakhs have been allocated for other members. The committee has been announced only after making a recruitment trade of around 100 crores. And this entire money went to Tarek Zia, acting chairman of BNP, who is a fugitive in London. It should be noted that the partial committee of the Chhatra Dal was announced on April 17. In that partial committee, Kazi Rawonkul Islam Shravan was made the president and Saif Mahmud Jewel was made the general secretary. In addition, the names of five members of the Central Parliament were also announced. Then after five long months, the new committee was announced.

Several leaders who did not get a place in the Chhatra Dal committee told Bangla Insider that there was committee trade, money was asked, those who could pay were included in the committee. The aggrieved said that this entire money was transacted through a syndicate. The angry Chhatra Dal workers have been protesting for the past two days. They claimed that married, elderly and almost exiled from politics were included in the committee in exchange of money. Noting that, this full committee has been created by BNP Acting Chairman Tarek Zia who is a fugitive in London. He was assisted by BNP General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and 2 other leaders in Dhaka. Basically money was transacted through them and after receiving all the money, Tarek Zia approved to announce the committee.

It is known that initially 20 people were supposed to be vice-presidents of Chhatra Dal. Interestingly, Chhatra Dal is an organization that has no constitution. There is no information on who can be a member of this organization, how old they can be or why they can be a member. There is also no concrete idea about how many members the committee will have. Although the committee of 20 people was mentioned, 22 people paid 20 lakhs. As a result, the scope of the committee has increased. On the other hand, 50 people were supposed to be joint general secretary but 82 people have been made there. Besides, in the full committee, 62 people have been made joint general secretary, 48 people have been made joint organizing secretary and 73 people have been made members of the editorial board, 19 people have been made general members. The committee has been constituted in the same manner as the money has been given.

A leader included in this committee told Bangla Insider that he gave Tk 5 lakh. He was told that if he could pay Tk 20 lakh, he would become vice-president. But in the end he could not collect that money. The leader said, we are already in the opposition party. We are out of business. But since there is a need to have an identity, that is why I joined the committee. He said that he collected this money by borrowing. 90% of those inducted into Chhatra Dal committees are involved in various contracting businesses and none of them are students anymore. In such a situation, what will they do as Chhatra Dal leaders, this question has been raised. After the announcement of the Chhatra Dal committee, protests and frustration are going on not only in Dhaka city, but all over the country. It is variously said that this tendency to form committees with money will destroy the organization.
