India agrees to reduce border deaths to zero: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that Bangladesh and India have agreed to bring down the death rate at the border to zero. At this time, she commented that Bangladesh's relationship with India is historic.

She said this at a press conference at Prime Minister's residence Ganabhaban on Wednesday (September 14).

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina went on a four-day state visit to India on September 5. During the visit, the Prime Minister held a bilateral and private meeting with Narendra Modi the Prime Minister of India. It discussed issues related to security cooperation, investment, trade relations, cooperation in power and energy sectors, common river water distribution, water resource management, border management, drug smuggling and human trafficking prevention.
