Gold bars worth 3.5 crore recovered from airport dustbin

Dhaka Customs Office has recovered 30 gold bars, weighing around 3.5 kilograms, from a dustbin at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport this morning (October 6, 2022).

The estimated value of the gold is around Tk 3.5 crore.

The bars wrapped in scotch tape were found near Bay No. 12 around 9:30am, said an official of Customs.

On secret information, a team of customs officials recovered the gold bars from the dustbin near Bay No. 12 of the airport at around 9:30 am in an abandoned condition.

Legal action is being taken under customs law in this regard.
