5 arrested over gang raped in train

Police have arrested five people following gang-raped to a 17-year-old girl in a train at the capital's Kamalapur railway station on Saturday (8 September).

The arrested are Sumon, Naim, Nazmul, Anwar and Roman Prakash Kalu. Earlier, a rape incident took place in a local train halted at Platform No. 1 of Kamalapur railway station on Friday night.

It is learned that the victim girl came to Kamalapur from her village home in Netrakona. Later some people took her to a local train stopped at platform 1 and raped her.

Dhaka Railway Police Station (Kamalapur) OC Ferdaus Ahmed Biswas said that five people have been arrested in connection with the rape. Besides, a fugitive named Imran. Currently, the rape victim is undergoing treatment at the Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital.
