Faridpur-2 by-polls voting underway

The by-election to the Faridpur-2 constituency, which fell vacant after the demise of senior Awami League leader Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, is being held today (November 5).

The voting started at 8:00am and will continue till 4:00pm.

Two candidates are contesting in this by polls. They are Awami League nominated candidate Late Sajeda Chowdhury's son Shahdab Akbar Chowdhury alias Labu and Bangladesh Khelafat Andolan candidate Zainul Abedin alias Bakul Miah.

According to Faridpur election office, there are total 3,18,479 voters in the constituency.

The election is being held in 123 voting centers.

A total of 1,052 CCTV cameras have been installed in the by-polls. The Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal and other election commissioners are monitoring the entire procedure from Dhaka.
