Fair voting in Faridpur; 7-10 more days to decide on Gaibandha

The investigation report of irregularities in 51 centers of Gaibandha is already in the hands of the EC. The Election Commission has ordered to look at the CCTV footages of the remaining 94 centers and give observation reports. Meanwhile, Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal has expressed satisfaction that there is no irregularity in the by-election of Faridpur-2 constituency.

Along with that, he commented that even if 'one third' of the investigation report of Gaibandha irregularities is received, he will make a decision based on the entire report.

The CEC said this to reporters at the CCTV monitoring center at the election building on Saturday.

Faridpur-2 by-election is going on from 8 am. Voting will be held in EVM till 4 pm. In addition to local monitoring, the CEC and other election commissioners are watching the voting through 1052 CC cameras in all the centers and polling booths.

In the afternoon, CEC Kazi Habibul Awal expressed his satisfaction with the voting environment and said, "I don't see any irregularities at all." Faridpur by-election is being held very peacefully.

However, he said that voter turnout is relatively low.

In response to a question, the CEC said that it will take another 7-10 days to complete the investigation report and take a decision on the Gaibandha by-election.

He said, they received the investigation report of 51 centers; The previous committee has also been asked to submit the investigation report of the remaining 94 centers within a week.
