4 killed in Feni road accident

Four people were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a covered van at Sadar Upazila in Feni. Ten other people were injured in the incident.

The accident took place in Mohammad Ali Dulamia area on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway at about 11:00 am on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as covered van helper Nazmul, Durgapur area of ​​Comilla Sadar police station, Forkan of Nesharabad Police Station of Ferozepur District, and Riaz Uddin of Lakshipur District. The identity of the other deceased is not known. Riyaz Uddin died under treatment after being brought to the hospital.

The names of Monir Hossain and Zamir Uddin of Ferozepur district have been reported among the injured. On receiving the information, the fire service personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the injured.

Feni General Hospital police in-charge Naik Jasim Uddin said three people died on the spot. Another person named Riaz Uddin of Lakshipur district died while undergoing treatment after being brought to the hospital. The body has been kept in the hospital morgue. As the condition of four seriously injured persons is critical, they have been sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital.
