Sheikh Hasina brought BMRC into the limelight on the path shown by Bangabandhu

The Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman knew that for the benefits of independence to reach everyone, advanced education and healthcare options were necessary. Research was needed to provide advanced medical care and health services to all. If we analyze the three and a half years of his rule, we see that Bangabandhu emphasized research in all aspects. He adopted short, medium, and long-term plans for research. Moreover, he gave top priority to medical science research. For this purpose, within a short time, he established the BMRC (Bangladesh Medical Research Council). He wanted BMRC to serve as a 'guiding light' for medical research. However, that dream was shattered on the tragic night of August 15, 1975. With the assassination of the Father of the Nation, our dreams of independence were destroyed, and the nation plunged into despair. Bangladesh began to tread on the wrong path. As a result, Bangladesh fell behind in all sectors. Most notably, it fell behind in medical science research.

The benefits of independence mean the happiness, security, tranquility, and freedom from anxiety of the citizens of the state. However, after 1975, the plundering by the affluent class and the limitless corruption of the powerful have transformed ordinary citizens into second-class citizens. In 1996, Sheikh Hasina, the daughter of Bangabandhu, assumed the responsibility of running the country after a long 21 years and she continues to implement Bangabandhu's vision in governing the state. Just as the Father of the Nation envisioned the creation of the Bangladeshi state, Sheikh Hasina, the Philosophical-statesperson, has steadfastly implemented that vision.  By executing Bangabandhu's vision, Sheikh Hasina has elevated Bangladesh to its current esteemed position. She has brought BMRC into forefront following Bangabandhu's path. Bangladesh is progressing in all realms of research, including medical science, under her guidance. It is under her leadership that BMRC is now emerging as an internationally recognized institution. Just as Bangabandhu traversed the path to deliver the dividends of independence to all, Sheikh Hasina, the philosophical statesperson, has steered the nation to its desired destination. If Bangladesh had not been crushed by the misrule of twenty-one years, then Bangladesh would have been established as one of the advanced modern science minded states in the world today. Therefore, let us pledge on the great Independence Day, to deliver the benefits of freedom to the doorsteps of all people, and for this we need the leadership and guidance of the philosophical statesperson Sheikh Hasina.
