September 28 marks the 75th birthday of Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina the President of the Awami League. This time the birthday of the mournful
girl of Bengal was celebrated in a festive mood. Even those who wanted to oust
Sheikh Hasina from politics have had in-depth discussions on the Prime
Minister's birthday. The media which once filled the pages of the newspaper
with sharp criticism that Sheikh Hasina could not give anything in politics has also joined in the worship of Sheikh Hasina. On September 28, an atmosphere
of unity was created in the country. Despite differences of opinion, almost all
the people of the country have paid homage to the Prime Minister. No one has
spared to admit that Bangladesh has reached this position today under the
leadership of Sheikh Hasina. On such a festive day in the afternoon, there was a
thunderstorm without clouds. Suddenly, the government news agency BSS (Bangladesh
shongbad shonstha), the country's leading online news platform Bangla News, BD
News, and many other online news portals were abruptly shut down. Now people
have become online-dependent for various reasons. Even those who like to wake
up in the morning and read a magazine printed with a sip of a cup of tea, look
around the various online sites all day to know the latest news immediately. On
the afternoon of September 28, the online news portal crash created a panic. The
hackers did it? Or did the government shut down these news portals? The rumors
started to spread quickly. After a while, it became known that the
government-controlled BTRC had stopped all this. The High Court issued an order
on September 14. The order said, "unregistered online news portals must be
shut down within the next seven days." September 28 was the seventh day.
So the BTRC started their 'perfect and skillful' work on the same day. They
started closing the registered news portals too. The whole nation is shocked by
the activities of BTRC. Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar
emerged as the savior just when the media was buzzing about it. He ordered to
suspend the news portal closure project. He asked them to start the ones that
were closed. To answer the question of why BTRC did such a strange thing, the
Minister of Posts and Telecommunications gave an extraordinary, strange and
unbelievable excuse. He told the media, "This happened because we did not
get the list of unregistered websites." Mustafa Jabbar said, "The list
of unregistered sites requested from the Ministry of Information was not
received in time." I thought something was wrong. I saw his statement in
multiple media is the same. How will the Ministry of Information have the list?
The Ministry of Information will be able to provide a list of BTRC registered
online news portals. The Ministry of Information has registered 92 online news
portals in two phases. There are more than a thousand applications in the
Ministry of Information. Registration is ongoing through a specific process. He
said right. Just like printing magazine is an ongoing process. After going
through many steps, a magazine has to get a declaration or publication
clearance. After going through many steps, a television broadcast gets
clearance. The Information Minister has also introduced a policy and
registration system for online news portals. He has been praised for this work.
The 92 online news portals that have received clearances are legal and valid.
Just as a magazine cannot be published for a day without a declaration, a
television channel cannot be broadcast for a second without a license, and an
unregistered news portal cannot run. BTRC has the power to shut down online
news portals. Therefore, it is the responsibility of this organization to close
everything that is out of the 92 registered. The Ministry of Information has a
list of registered online news portals. But why the invalid or unregistered
list will be in the Ministry of Information? The job of the BTRC is to take the
online list registered from the Ministry of Information and close the ones that
are out of the list. Why would Mustafa Jabbar want a list of unregistered
online portals? How far is the Ministry of Information from the Ministry of
Posts and Telecommunications? This list is also available on the website of the
Ministry of Information. I am surprised, shocked at the minister's excuse. On September
14 he said that the next day BTRC will bring the list of valid online from the
Ministry of Information. Then the closing process will start. Is BTRC so
ignorant that they do not know Bangladesh News Agency? Why do they have to do
this on the Prime Minister's birthday? Is it incompetence, irresponsibility, or
sabotage? When BSS, Bangla News, BD News were shut down on 26th September,
Netra News, Nagrik TV was running in the existing taboo. In Bangladesh, some
anti-state groups are now carrying out cyber terrorism in the name of online
news portals. The High Court has repeatedly reacted strongly to this. But I
think the BTRC and the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications seem to have a
different sympathy for these anti-state online. Therefore, he obstructed the
process of taking action against them with skillful hands. In absolute
compassion. Anti-Bangladesh, anti-government propaganda, and ugly dirty attacks
come from abroad. Some of the identified individuals are sitting in London,
Sweden, Canada, and the United States spreading these Goebbels lies. Now
unregistered and unregulated online rumors are spreading in the country. Lies
spread abroad are being remade in Bangladesh. These online sites are spreading
the garbage of Nagarik TV, Kanak Sarwar, Ilyas Hossain in the country. The High
Court had earlier directed the BTRC to take action to stop these lies from spreading
from abroad. Even then the minister said he was helpless. This time the
responsibility fell on the Ministry of Information. The minister is making
various excuses for failing to bring uncontrolled arbitrariness in a discipline
in the cyber world. He is imposing responsibility on others out of
helplessness. Ministers, however, have become more adept at the blame game.
Let's talk about setting up an RT-PCR lab at the airport. The lab was launched on
September 29 after 41 days under the direction of the Prime Minister.
Expatriates going to UAE can now go. But our expatriates had to pay for the 41
days of 'pillow passing'. The Prime Minister said to set up the lab as soon as
possible. Then the tug-of-war between the three ministries began. The
expatriate welfare ministry said the health ministry was delaying naming the
lab. The Ministry of Health said that civil aviation is not giving place.
Ordinary people are lost in the war of words of ministers. Who is true and who
is false? Minister means great. Minister means honorable. After a month like
this, the Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister went to the airport on his own
initiative. He sat down with the civil aviation authorities with the two
ministers and finalized the place. If not, who knew how many days they would
have wasted on finalizing the place. Many ask, why the Prime Minister has to
take care of everything, what do other ministers do? The setting up of a lab
at the airport proved that nothing happens in the country without the Prime
Minister. Ministers can only make excuses, impose blame on others, talk
irresponsibly, and spread controversy. Our health minister is one of the players
in the blame game for setting up a lab at the airport. He is above all now. Not
being afraid of criticism like a hero. If he had remembered what he had said,
he would have felt the joke on his own. Let's give an example. In the first
phase, there was an awkward incident with mass vaccination. Mass harassment took
place in the name of mass vaccination. It was an embarrassment for him and for
the Health Ministry. He also announced that he would no longer use the word
"mass" in vaccination programs. He told the media, "There will
be no more mass vaccinations." But a few days later, the health minister
said, "There will be mass vaccinations on the Prime Minister's
birthday." 8 million people will be vaccinated. 'Why 8 million people? We, ordinary people, are a little confused. The next day the advertisement for the
Ministry of Health was seen. The advertisement read, "We pay our respects
to Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on her 75th birthday." A special
campaign will be launched on September 28 to provide 75 lakh doses of the
Covid-19 vaccine across the country. On the front page of the newspaper, the
minister announced to give 80 lakh vaccines. On the last page, there is an
advertisement for 75 lakh vaccines from the Department of Health. Who is true? Minister or Directorate? The minister can certainly avoid his liability.
In two ways he can easily put the blame on others. First, he can say that
journalists misrepresented him. He actually said that 75 lakhs, journalists
have made 6 lakhs to tarnish the reputation of the health minister. The media
is always against the health minister. So the wicked can do it. Or he can blow
it up by being careless with his statements as always. The health minister, of
course, is like that. He doesn't care about anything. "Criticism
strengthens me," he told the National Assembly. A few days ago, a charge
sheet was filed against former Director-General of Health Professor Dr. Abul
Kalam Azad in the Shahed scandal case. The former director-general of health
was not named in the first statement issued by the anti-corruption commission. But
later the name of Abul Kalam Azad got involved in the investigation of the case.
Following the charge sheet, pictures of the Director-General of Health signing
a contract with the fraudulent Shahed Regent Hospital was published in many
media outlets. When the Department of Health signed an agreement with Regent
Hospital, Saheed did not have the approval of that hospital. In the picture of
the signing ceremony of that agreement, I saw the Minister of Health sitting in
the middle like a gemstone. He later dropped the accusation into the hands of
Abul Kalam Azad. After Shahed was caught, the minister said, "I don't know
anything about this. Went to an event at the Department of Health. Mr. DG said
an agreement will be signed. I stayed. ' The minister sat in the middle chair
without knowing anything! The minister has won this blame game this time. The
ACC has also questioned former secretary Asadul Islam for the sake of
embarrassment. But the investigating officer did not even go to the minister to
find out the reason why he was sitting there. Therefore, if you are a minister,
you can put blame on others and get a smooth edge. you just have to look at
whom you are blaming. The blame game becomes a bit more complicated if it is
with another minister. For example, what happened recently with e-commerce. At
the tip of everyone's nose, Evaly, E-Orange, Dhamaka made noise all over the
country. People stumbled. Thousands of crores of people’s money were looted. No
one said anything. These e-commerce companies have been approved by the
Ministry of Commerce. These institutions have taken the money of the common
people through the commercial banks of Bangladesh. Was Bangladesh Bank asleep?
Recently, Bangladesh Bank has summoned the bank accounts of 11 journalist
leaders. But Evaly, e-Orange, Dhamaka’s bank accounts have never been summoned.
After taking thousands of crores of money, now they have only a few lakhs in
their bank! Where was the intelligence unit of Bangladesh Bank? In the event of
such an unusual transaction, Bangladesh Bank could have brought these
institutions under surveillance. But none of this was done. An
inter-ministerial meeting was held after the public looting festival. That
blame game starts again. The Commerce Ministry says we have no responsibility.
Why didn't the Bangladesh Bank do anything? Again, the finance minister said,
"The responsibility should be borne by the commerce ministry."
Because they have allowed the business.' In this strange game of determining
who is responsible, the receipt of customer's money has become uncertain. The
question may arise, where have you been for so long? Evaly, e-Orange, Dhamaka
did not loot money in one day. They did it every day in front of everyone.
Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Finance did not see this or they were
sleeping? And now, after all, why this restless activity?
One of the major problems of the Awami League government in
the third term is the lack of coordination. There is no coordination of work of one
ministry with another. According to the Rules of Business of governing the
government, the ministers are the chief executive of the ministry. Therefore, they
are responsible for the work of the ministry. I don't know, I don't understand,
I didn't do it, etc. The liability cannot be avoided with various excuses.
Again in Bangladesh, almost all the work has to be done by coordinating more
than one ministry. We have seen in Corona the reluctance of government
ministers to work together in harmony. Garment factories were opened. The health
minister does not know. Factories opened, public transport closed. Public
transport was running, again it was said that half the cars would run. We have
been seeing the extreme arbitrariness of incoherence for almost the last two
years. No one is doing their job properly. Everyone is looking at the Prime
Minister for everything. The Prime Minister has to work hard day and night to
fix everything. Some of the other ministers seem to know nothing. But whenever
they are failing, showing incompetence, they are putting the blame on others.
The people are suffering. The biggest loss is to the government. People are
losing confidence in the government. The government is suffering the most in
the blame game of the ministers. Some of the other ministers seem to know
nothing. But whenever they are failing, showing incompetence, they are putting
the blame on others. Because of this, the people are suffering. People are
losing confidence in the government. The government is suffering the most in
the blame game of the ministers.
